I was lucky enough to pick an original one of these up on ebay recently (also have a copycat one) and they both look great. Easy to conver the originals to AC power with a cheap little DC phone charger :)

Looks nice, but your guide link is down. Consider posting the Howto at someplace more permanent.
For people who want to make something similar (NOT the same plans), try googling "pocket ignignikt", jFet has a nice guide.
For people who have less technical skill, buy a "Peggy 2" programmable LED display (and pay someone to solder it up... it's 600+ LEDs, lol)
