  • Barbara Stanwyck, one of the best and hardest working actress that never won an Oscar.

  • several inaccuracies. Children did not dine with their parents. Having your children visible implied you had sex. The Strauss's were Jews, as was Benjamin Guggenheim and would have eaten in their cabin. People are acknowleging the servers, which would not have happened. What is done right is first dinner out is informal. and Clifton Webb makes greatest snob ever!

  • "Shouldn't you be in school somewhere?"...... BURN!!!! lol

  • @wraith149

They weren't 3rd class. They were of the Bourgeois American New Money ilk.

  • Kate Winslet's Rose would have loved to have Barbara Stanwyck's character Julia as her mother. Julia's philosophy to life is very in sync with Rose's.

  • This is the first time seeing this movie. I grew up watching James Cameron's Titanic and thought it was the best which is the best in my point of view.

can anybody tell me why this movie is better than James Cameron's? I'm new to this black and white version of Titanic movie.

  • All actors are good though even second characters, they have their importance on the boat.

  • @ohsnapitsme59 She won an oscar thirty years later for the Thorn birds"with Richard Chamberlain.A very talented, actress,a huge actress actually!

  • @funsascha There seems to be three pieces of music being played. The middle one is entitled, "Shine Little Glow Worm, Glimmer, Glimmer." It's a cute little love song asking the glow worm (firefly) to lead the couple on to love. It was a part of the German operetta, "Lysistrata" which was written in 1902. The song was translated into English and became a popular song. I don't know what the other two pieces are, but if I find out, I'll let you know.

  • @tinnieandminga Well, some people like their meat without filler--the filler in the 1997 film's case being special effects.
