To the Doe eyed idealistic westerner, the idea of freedom fighting and unpaid volunteerism (are you serious?) seems a worthwhile cause.

But let me put it to you this way, what if an ethic minority in Great Britain, perhaps the Pakistani’s, Tamils, the like decide to form their own army and attempt to carve out part of your country? i would like to know how the Anglican Anglo-Saxon crowd would react to that

if the Burmese and all the other ethnic groups wanted to be free, they would take up arms and fight. if other minority groups wanted to be free, they wouldn't give in to the military rule. if burma is to change, everyone needs to fight the military regime, like what the karen and shan are doing
