Superman/Smallville: Destiny

Hi peop! A few days ago, in a sudden masochistic impulse, I decided to read for the umpteenth time the fanfic "Fly me to the moon", written by Jade (by the way, if you haven't read it yet- how could you miss it?!?- here's the link:

It's beautiful, yet heart-breaking, especially for a Lois-fanatic like me: believe me when I say that I weep like a baby everytime I read it. And so I did the last time, too.
It threw me in a sad, gloomy mood and made me think about how horrible it is that eventually, despite his undying love for Lois, our poor Clark is really destined to loneliness... Damned mortality!
So I did this... A spark of hope to cheer me up a little...
Another Superman-Smallville mix, but no more comics this time: I used Jor-El and Lara's speech from the first movie, instead.

@ajet85 Between the earthquake and hurricane Irene, couldn't reply b4 now. Just got our power back over an hour ago!! I have serious trepidation re: the new Superman movie. And now that we're getting into the end of Flashpoint....my comic shop owner/friend said no one has any idea how much of any DC title to preorder. & I always start lol'ing re; the Super-lumberjack outfit and singing the Monty Python Lumberjack song....

@46LCG Of course, doing a so called "soft reboot" that not only does NOT really reboot the entire universe, but screws up the basic facts about a main character like Superman (!!!) is not really a good way of doing it, IMO. Not at all.

And, let me tell you: I'm not very happy about a Superman movie by Zack Snyder either... What he puts into his movies- blood, violence, gore- is the complete opposite of the very idea of Superman.

I really hope I'm wrong...

@46LCG Well, I'll tell you... I've got a particular way of reading comics: I just read random arcs, only the ones that look more promising. So for example, I have no idea what the "grounded" arc is like- sounded too boring, so I ignored it. And so I did with the citizenship story from AC#900, too.

DC's probably trying to fix some of the crap they came up with in, like... 60 years. For one single character there are lots of different origin stories, lots of versions, lots of everything...

@ajet85 idkwth is up with DC but they've totally lost it since the Action 900 issue and the infamous citizenship story!  This is not the way to get fans (what fans?) excited about the new Superman movie...

@46LCG You're welcome! I'm shocked too, believe me! When I saw that page with Lois and her blonde, irritating boyfriend I just said "that is sooo not the Lois Lane I know!" - not to mention Superman's HORRIBLE "happy lumberjack suit".. Or his armor ( An ARMOR??? WTH???)

Good thing that we got a glimpse of Clois in the "Flashpoint: project Superman #2"... So I guess there's still hope!

Ahhhh, AJ, I needed this vid badly. I'm so bummed at DC's reboot (boot up the arse) which apparently "unmarries" Lois and Clark. One of the Previews blurbs mentioned Lois' new boyfriend --wtbh? So thank you for sharing this and letting me wallow in massive destined Cloisness goodness! <3
