This is the MES (Mushroom Eco System) designed for fruiting a personal amount of mushrooms indoors. When connected to a timer it becomes 100% automated.

  • I didn't know you could eat turkey tails! I'm going to the woods right now to find a fallen tree....

  • @joejumps4fun Actually you would dry it out and grind it to a powder to use it as a tea for medicinal purposes.

  • @joejumps4fun Turkey Tail (Coriolus versicolor) is a small polypore composed of overlapping thin, fibrous bracket mushrooms that can be found covering large areas of logs. Turkey tail has been extensively researched in cancer studies having very positive results for several types of cancer including lung, breast, cervical, stomach, liver, and prostate . When used in conjunction with chemotherapy, turkey tail has been shown to significantly reduce side effects.*

  • I'm sorry but I don't have that kind of info. I'm sure you can find something online.

  • does it always have to kept at the same temperature?

  • @Feelthefx No...not really. Although...it should be kept, at least for shiitake, between 50-70f for best fruiting results (at least for this strain).

  • @MushroomPatch I'll have to research this...I really don't know much about what Turkeytails can medically do for anyone. Thanks for showing your setup!

  • Yes...out of plexiglas but the lid must have holes. That made it difficult. Good thing is that light entering from the side of the chamber is just as good. Yah!
