doc was a true legend , his matches in Japan were brutal and in my opinion he was a world champion, all Japan's triple crown was a wrestlers world title and u had to be a fn tough bastard to even be in with a chance of getting a shot. RIP DOC

Wow I thought you only posted political videos. Dr, Death was a brute, and I mean that in a nice way. I use to work out at this gym that close to the civic center in Roanoke, Va. We would have wrestlers come in all from time to time and Dr. Steve came in and he was huge. Out of the wrestlers who worked out at that gym I would say he was the strongest.

I remember when he was in the center of the ring one night during his stay at Japan Wrestling during the memorial tribute to his good friend and tag-partner "Bam Bam" Gordy!
I think the fact that Williams had throat cancer, compounded by having to deal with that huge loss, contributed to his early demise.
R.I.P., Dr. Death! :( You were one of the best.

Just saw this. Thanks for the kind, respectful thoughts toward him. :-)

Part 2: He was one of the best wrestlers to not win a individual world title. It's to bad when the Nwa absorbed the UWF he didn't get a legit shot or title run.

You're right he is a legend. I live in Michigan and believe it or not there was a station that used to broadcast the old Mid-South/UWF wrestling shows every Friday night. I loved it I had a friend who watched it too. We were in junior high and it was nice to see alot of these guys before Vince turned them into cartoons. I was happy that Steve went to the NWA and also had great success in Japan. He is probably my favorite wrestler from the glory days and even today.

You know I just met Steve Williams in 2007 in Shreveport. He was out with his kids at the ballpark...very nice guy. Lord knows I didn't know this. I'm 39 so I was talking to him about how big a fan I was of him and Mid South wrersting...He shook my hand and replied, "Yeah, the good ole days" God Bless Your Soul Steve
