January 17, 2012--This day went well! Prior to the workout, I made sure that I was adequately rested, carb-loaded, and hydrated. My final warm-up set felt a little heavy, but I moved ahead to the first working set of 580 lbs. X 3 reps. The reps felt fairly easy, and in mid-stream, I changed plans. Mark and I agreed that I should raise the weight to 590 lbs. for my second set. The weight moved quickly for this set, and I had my first personal record for the day. This last set wasn't in the original plan, but thinking about it in retrospect, it was the right choice. I raised the weight again, this time to 600 lbs., and gave it my very best. The reward far outweighed the risk, and I had my second PR of the day.
