@Drossrock - i think it's the combination of the guitar tuning (half step down except the G string) , the open chords and the harmonics he provokes (touching lightly some strings)

Billy Corgan performed an acoustic set on 30 Sept 2010 in a book store (atoutlivre) in Paris as part of the book signing for "Chants Magnetiques" a book he co-wrote with french author Claire Fercak.
