1955 Johnson 5.5hp outboard boat motor

Running in test barrel. My dad found at a garage sale for $62 (including a pressure tank with no rust). Runs excelent.

Figured it out, go look at the decal's at nymarine.ca between a 54 and 55, the starting instructions for the 54 had the "V" , 55 didn't.

looks like a 55 to me, whats the diff with 54?

am looking at a 5.5 Johnson on a small boat---not interested in the boat but only the mtor but will buy both to get motor--like one i had as a kid---looks to be in good shape and runs ok---what should be the range i should expectto pay??

That is a motor that will alway's bring you where you want to go and back

I used the same motor in Canada in the middle of nowhere over 50 year's

old and run's like a day old
