@pgpete I agree, but as my name says... I'm really tall, some say... too tall... and I would def. need that little bit bigger plane.. the climb rate on the v8 version is INSANE! needless to say Sadler had his stuff together when designing these planes that are extremely similar.

@pgpete "In 1997 Mr. Sadler contracted with Turkish Aerospace Industries to develop the Piranha air-to-ground attack fighter. The Piranha weighed just 1450 pounds and boasted a useful load of the same. It was powered by a 450hp water-cooled aluminum-block V8. The power-to-weight ratio was so great that the Piranha was capable of verticle climb rates over 4000 feet per minute."
straight from Sadler's web page under the history section and if you look at the picture on the page it is the Vampire

@starkneked - you might just squeeze in - you can fly it without the canopy if you like.
I am so impressed! They made these with a v-8 for some middle eastern military and they were fitted with a machine gun of some sort and or a camera. I had a dream about a twin tail LSA and started to research and here it is. I wonder if anyone has tried a wenkel rotary engine with a APU powered turbo charger and manual integral boost control... that would be awesome! sigh and expensive... i know that rotary engine blocks all have low magnesium if any at all : ( unlike most aeronautical engines.

@2tallbrandon watching the video i can see that the military version and the version I flew have only the shape in common - that military plane is a lot bigger and heavier. ( and faster ) but the ultralight version would be cheaper and more fun !!

I wonder what the spin characteristics are...

@rpowerscat - it had to pass spin requirements to get 95.25 certification.
