Following a rehearsal, Niia ( http://www.facebook.com/NiiaMusic ) and I decided to spontaneously improvise a one-take ballad with lyrics from Michele Bachmann's concession speech.

Just in case any of my subscribers are Bachmann supporters: it was not really our intent to disparage Bachmann or any of the other presidential candidates. After all, we're musicians-- I don't think I'm even registered to vote, and Niia thought Michele Bachmann was the name of a jazz singer.

Here's the lyrics below:

My name is Michele Bachmann.

Last night the people of Iowa spoke with a very clear voice, so I have decided to stand aside

I sought the nomination

of the party of Reagan, the party of Lincoln,

that believes in the strength and the goodness of American people

and that America is and does remain the greatest force for good that the world has ever known.

I had just one message, to tell you that I mean what I say and I say what I mean

I have no regrets, none whatseover, we've never compromised our principles

And so I sincerely thank my wonderful husband of 33 years, Marcus Bachmann.

He was out buying doggie sunglasses for our dog, Boomer

make no mistake, I'll continue to be a strong voice.

I'll continue to stand and fight for the country and for the American people and for our freedom,

because Mr. Franklin and all the founders, all the men, all the women who have given their last full

measure of devotion, and our military, our veterans

are watching us.

I have decided

to stand aside

the party of Reagan

Mr. Franklin
