  • he'll be paying taxes soon. elevation partners owns 1.5% of facebook so bono will soon be a billionaire, taxed on capital gains in the US i think... anyway, who really cares?

  • @Corbon440 They only start doing 'charidee' work and lecturing everyone when they have millions in the bank! Bonzo is a huge hypocrite and this 'interview' is a love in

  • @Corbon440 that's just being smart about business...you would do the same thing

  • What Bono doesn't understand is that here in America rarely anyone is of a single national origin, or even claims a single one. We're all Americans and him trying to bring that old world conflict crap over here is frowned upon to say the least.

  • @AZUREGLIDE

From wiki: Bono and his bandmates were criticised in 2007 for moving part of their multi-million euro song catalogue from Ireland to Amsterdam six months before Ireland ended a tax exemption on musicians' royalties.

Quite a fishy law but like you said it effectively makes them tax dodgers. It's amazing how an individual who's sitting on several hundred million dollars still has the nerve to beg half of the world to chip in.

  • @AZUREGLIDE

That doesn't make sense since the Netherlands are a high-tax country. From what I know the whole band, minus Larry who still lives in Dublin, resides in the US. Which is of course much better than the craphole they're coming from.

  • Bono is so natural here...love it!

  • He says "You know" a lot

  • they seem to get on very well :)

  • @jumpforjoy6 They live in Holland to avoid paying tax on their millions, they are tax dodgers.
