i was a penpal of your brother when i was in 8th grade back in 2002-03. i just re-read all of his letters to me. he knew how to still be funny in hard times.

I was a pen pal of your brother's back in 2002. I stayed in touch with him until he went back to the states, to Georgia. What started as an 8th grade school project to communicate with our country's soldiers has affected me more than you will ever know. I just re-read all of his letters that he sent me. He was so funny even in bad times.
I am truly sorry for you loss.
You and your family are in my heart.

Drill Sergeant Hardy was more than words can quantify to us, his men. He is missed greatly, I wish his family the best in this tough time. C Co. 3/330th is not the same without him, and we can only hope to make him proud with what we do from here. #329
