Vega Vs. Malibu

Two very very fast cars. Malibu has a bbc, Vega has a Chry. 440. Both 9 sec. cars.

He bought the car that way. Car was built back in probably the early 80's. Basically a strip only car, which is why it isnt working on the street. Car runs mid to low 9's. The motor isnt even that radical, probably just over 500hp, which is easy to do with a BB mopar.

@bigdaddy0228 Yea I missed the fact you said LOW 9's. Huge difference from 9.9 to 9.1 & your right, much more than 500 horses to run LOW 9's, but you can do it with the right setup in a 2000ish pound car with 500-600 horses

@bigdaddy0228 No, not in a 2000 lb Vega with 25% power to weight ratio. I have an under 2500lb chevelle with about 500 hp & it runs 10.12 with a 2 speed, if I lost more weight which I can't do, & ran a turbo 350 transmission It would run in the 9's all day.

Hard to say the car is a 9 second car since it cant hook. And by the way- not much different in getting drag car to hook on the street- good tires- heat em up.... my guess is he either doesnt have good tires- or it didn't hook on the strip either.. :)

Dude wouldn't got his ass whooped if he hadn't put a 440 in it, why not a alky 383 its that simple, or its a drag car why not a 468 or 502 BBC.

I put a 350 in my vega and it pulls 12's, and it's got a limited slip rear with 3.42 gears and an s10 front end,other then that its a stock chassis with full interior. not sayin it would kill the malibu but my point it DONT MIX!!!! its sacrilege.
