Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau is the Welsh national anthem. The tune and words were the work of the father and son team of Evan James (1809 - 1878) and James James (1833 - 1902).

English haters prefer to suppress the fact that Llewellyn the Great's daughter Gladys Ddu married a Norman whose descendants became the Yorkists, direct ancestors of the modern British royal family. Henry Tudor was only a quarter Welsh and not descended from Welsh royalty. The present queen is descended from the true Welsh royal family. English haters may reject descent in the female line. Very democratic as the Welsh assembly has more women than the assembly of any other nation in the world!!

@saltavi The Monarchy have many different origins, but as the modern monarcky used posh names that the English use most commonly, have english accents and represent England, I don't think you can call them primarily German today. This is my opinion. Do not violate it.

The only Welsh they have in their veins is from the Tudors and they died out with Elizabeth. The last proper regent we had was Llewellyn and Owain.
