Truth be told, Alexey Pajitnov didn't make that much money from Tetris because it was developed under the Soviet Union at a time when government employees were unable to retain the rights to their projects, so they became the IPs of the USSR.

It was only in 1996 when he founded The Tetris Company and reclaimed the rights to the title that he began making money from it, but even then at that stage its popularity wasn't and still isn't quite what it was.

the original was on the atari 2600 actualy the NES title is inferior to the original but turns out nintendo owned tetris not atari so they had to stop selling that awesome game...

Tetris is awesome!I have about 5 versions of the game I got it for the Game Boy,Cell Phone,WiiWare,N64 and Xbox Live Arcade.
