I'll bet you've never heard this before.

Adagio for Strings by Samuel Barber, arranged for three voices in six parts. It's a little bit faster than other renditions, but it's still one of the best things I've ever heard. The group is The Celtic Tenors - self-styled classical crossover artists sing both traditional Gaelic folk songs and modern contemporary hits. Their most recent album includes songs by Bob Dylan, David Baerwald, Randy Newman and Stephen Foster.

And now I sound like an infomercial. Oh well, that was sort of the point.

  • Totally wrong.

  • subhanallah is a great voice

  • subhanallahis a great voice

  • @simonjp90 It's meant to be tat way. There are songs that have that sound to it that make it seem as if they are flat, but they're not. This is also a studio recording by the way. Also, you should check out "Coudurst" and "Nox Aurumque" by Eric Whitacre, they are perfect examples of songs that are like that.

  • @marthmaster79 Um, there isn't that big of a difference between this and the choir version, as they're both vocal.

  • @Lucas812 I have homeworld as well.

  • Ick...XP...Sorry, but no, just no, these guys totally ruin this piece for me, and it's one of my all time favorites, just heard this version sung by a college level choir of music students, and it was so beautiful it nearly made me cry, now THAT was talent.

  • Favorite song ever, bar none

  • ahh so flat

  • To think that this song is nearly 100 years old (inspired by a 1930s piece) and it STILL distinguishes itself. I always think of Platoon when I hear it.
