There was a Loretta Young episode (Season 7, episode 9) titled: "The Lady in the Fish Bowl." It was about Loretta needing extra money for her son's college tuition, so she takes a job "living" inside a Depart. store widow display. Then a man with a scar starts to watch her. It was a very creepy episode, and most likely one I'll never see again. Shame, it was very scary!
This opening is from the episode "Our Sacred Honor" [November 28, 1954], an historic docudrama about a little-known signer of the "Declaration Of Independence"...
The second season (1954-'55) was a strenuous one for Loretta. In fact, by the end of the season, she collapsed from sheer overwork, and was hospitalized for several months, causing her to miss the start of the third season. Her friends offered to "pinch-hit" for her as host, and star in the weekly dramas until she returned on Christmas night, 1955.

When she was out for the Fall part of the third season, despite fabulous guest stars, the show just didn't work. She was indispensable.
