During a daring rescue attempt, John Brown (Matthew Broderick), a naive and clueless security guard for a Robotics Engineering Facility, experiences the wrath of the mysterious Dr.Claw (Rupert Evertt) and is left clinging to life. Jumping at the Chance to put her Robotics expertise to the test,with funding by the Riverton Police Department , the brilliant Dr. Brenda Bradford (Joley Fisher) uses her father's GADGET progam, a chip in which the recepitent has thousands of incredible gadgets and devices at his command just by the thought and will of their mind and transforms him into the new fully functionig- law inforcing bionic-recruit, .....Inspector Gadget, the ultimate crime fighting tool! Now dubbed Inspector Gadget, the once-naïve guard can fulfill his dream of becoming a crime-fighting detective, and as he investigates his first case - namely, who blew him up -- he finds out that the man responsible also killed Brenda's father. Now it's up to the Inspector to find the fiend's identity and bring him to justice, using his homegrown bionic powers to crack the case for Gadget is going to need every technological trick up his cybernectic sleeve to defeat the ruthless Claw....before he reduces our hero to spare parts and wreaks havoc on the world!
