  • didnt you post a video where the voice comand button didnt work? why is it working now?

  • @jgadiaz Very good question indeed. That would be the million-dollar question. The problems were intermittent. I heard a good theory; the computer has difficulties closing down programs that use the voice command system or programs hang; when that happens, voice command won't work until a full reboot. That's the only thing I can think of.

  • @kkoz: no; the aftermarket one works quite well.

  • Ford my touch sync was nit ready for release. Can you say, Lemon, Recall and Law Suits?

  • have you tried using a diff usb cable? even though it did work before maybe it has a short also try the other USB port just my 2 cents. i also have a 2011 ford edge and am not 100% happy with this my ford touch. i dont have the map on my gps as yours its just turn by turn voice guidance. it takes me the looooooooooong way all the time.

  • @rbrice1981 Turns out, the horn in my car just stopped working. LOL.

Yeah, the horn, kinda sad right?

'97 Ford Explorer. Runs like a beast though.

  • @DjDommyD LOL! I have definitely whined and complained!!! I have another appointment with them and I'll mention what you said but this is a really common problem - I wonder if it could be a wiring problem for all the Ford edges ('11). I don't know much about electrical things though! Thanks Dommy

  • @rbrice1981 Ford.. you have to nag them.

Constantly complain about it, then they'll have to check it.

Try your Ford dealer, I'm 90% sure it's a wiring problem. Could be something as simple as a stripped wire or a wire that's shorting out. I'm pretty good with Electrical equipment and electronics. But, I'm not a Ford Dealer.

  • @DjDommyD The system's been updated (the Microsoft-released update). The firmware and software both have been updated. It may be not plugged in correctly but they would've found that, right?

  • @DjDommyD Thanks for that info. Yes, I agree - the system is not ready and if it's not ready it shouldn't have been released. Yes, It's been into the shop six times and has had three PROFESSIONAL (non-Ford) inspections (well, two but the third is scheduled for next week).
