The Cold -- MESMERIZED -- Feb 1981 single release
The Cold was a popular New Orleans band, performing from 1979 to 1985. This was during the Punk Rock and New Wave craze and The Cold drew their share of fans from the genre. I know, I was one.
Members of The Cold included lead singer Barbara Menendez on organ, Vance DeGeneres (yes, Ellen's brother) on bass and vocals, Kevin Radecker and Bert Smith on guitar and vocals, and Chris Luckette on drums and vocals.
Please excuse the sound quality. I made this video using a cassette tape I made of this song back in 1980. The photos were harvested off the web. The Cold has a website at http://www.threechordcity.com/ where you can read and see more.

Someone sent me this video & OMG!!! I use to love Barbara! My best friend introduced me to The Cold when New Wave was first breaking out.

I was between 14-15 & this is such a classic!

Barbara now lives somewhere on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Waveland, I think.

She creates beautiful pottery. Her work is beauitiful!

I've been trying to locate Barb and her younger sister Wissy but no luck. I spent alot of time in NOLA between 1986 - 1989 - mostly hanging out with Wissy Menendez. I met Barbara a few times - when we drove over the lake - she didn't live far from the bridge - I think in Mandeville. Anyone know where Wissy is ????
