The most powerful of western basses with the darkest timbre. Along with the most fluid legato and natural beauty of ANY singer I ever heard.

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountains green
And was the holy lamb of God
On England's pleasant pastures seen

And did the countenance divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark Satanic mills

Bring me my bow of burning gold
Bring me my arrows of desire
Bring me my spears o'clouds unfold
Bring me my chariot of fire

I will not cease from mental fight
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land
'Til we have built Jerusalem
In England's green and pleasant land

Hounded to the end of his days by the FBI as a "communist." Congrats. Anybody care to look around at the current "War on Terror" and ask yourselves if you've learned anything in the last 40 years?

Get a grip. Nothing communist about the labour party back then! Working people for working people. Still a Monarchy. Russia, England, I can see the difference. Churchill was rejected because people had seen enough of war & wanted a change. He reminded them too much of WW2. He was probably the greatest Prime Minister ever. A man for his time. Also, I think you have communism mixed up with socialism.

Black people have been betrayed by White aparthieds for hundreds of years and we never committed suicide. Robeson was made of sturdier stuff than you may think. it was Churchill that wanted to plunge the world into another suicide after the electorate rejeced him for a communist government. remember that. Commonly known as the Labour Party. Yes, in was communist from the get go and 50% of the british people voted for it and rejected Churchill so he blamed it on USSR and launched the cold war.
