@mozartgenetics Leadbelly wrote it, but Ram Jam released the most popular version back in the 70's. Pat is doing his version as he likes the song.

Pat puts on one of the best shows I have ever seen. It is nice to see him still rocking. I have been listening to him for over 30 years now. I remember getting my first copy of Putting It Straight for my birthday from a friend in the band. We practiced for hours and hours learning those songs. There are so many great twin solos in his music. You know this ol' boy works hard. Keep on playing shows here in Oregon so we can see ya!!! Cheers!

i saw PAT TRAVERS open for RAINBOW in 1981 at the l.a. forum and then open for AEROSMITH in 1983 at the long beach arena. glad he's still playin'.

Pat Travers is definately one of the most underappreciated guitar players in the last 50 years! The only better version of this song is Leadbelly's origional!

Well all of my life in metal and I never knew Pat Travers was the band who played Black Betty. I would imagine that I was so inthralled with Iron Maiden and Ronnie Dio that I just didn't pick that little tidbit up. God forgive me.

I listen to the music; dont watch the guys; If you want a stage show go see KISS

Some of that old music will never die. I'm glad people still like it. That old 12 bar blues will live as long as people are here. You can't loose with that music and it is an upper. The blues is not always blue. It's that old time rock and roll. Cheers to you and all the great people that listen to you. Life is good.

Really? You think six guys standing around looking at each other, with no stage presence, is better than the legendary Pat Travers? That video of yours looked like band class practice, to me, just sayin'.

Pat Travers lives down the street from me.
Me and his son are close friends.
He drove us to our soccer game this morning.

That's cool. How was the game? I hope the younger generation takes the opportunity to enjoy music like this, his seems to be a dying breed.
