Spitfire display at Duxford Battle of Britain Airshow 2010.
Sixteen Spitfires take to the skies to dazzle crowds at Duxford. Having been part of the sell-out crowd on the Saturday (and every other airshow this year! - see my other videos) we realised we had to see this spectacle again! This was taken from a field at the end of the runway on Sunday, the second day of the airshow. The aircraft pass very low overhead and showcase dogfight manoeuvres.
Apologies for the wind noise and general video quality - I only had a very basic camera.
Enjoy the Merlins.
@hernanratso Hey there - it's video from a stills camera so not the best quality but you do get some idea of how low these aircraft were. If I shut my eyes I can still see them ;-) I'll buy a ticket for next years air show, go on the Saturday and then perhaps watch Sunday's show from the field again. You wouldn't want to get much closer to a flying spitfire!! Thanks for getting in touch.

is that 16mm film or something similar? i was right near where you were filming on both displays - the sound and view was absolutely awesome!

@wamb17 Totally agree, I'll never forget the sound and sight of these beautiful aircraft directly overhead. My favourite bit is (was!) at about 4:43 - can't believe how low they were flying.
Long live the Spitfire, the women who delivered them and the men who flew them. Each one a hero.
