After making a horse "move his feet" in the round pen, it is important to pet him, reward him, and let him find comfort in being with you. This action allows him to "return to his herd" after being chased out of it (in a manner of speaking). The horse will accept the trainer as his leader if this is done properly. Notice how he follows me around completely off-line. This is only his fourth round pen session. He is an unbroken 3-year-old Percheron. I rode him for the first time later this same day.
