Video is taken by the driver on a typical stretch on the "Road to Hana" one of the top attractions on Maui. Pluses are great views, waterfalls, driving experience, negatives are car sickness, you have to drive back and some of the locals are very aggressive and a bit nasty towards tourists.

  • Actually, we didn't go all the way there and back. A few hours was enough experience. On a different island (Kaui) there's a great drive from Hanalai Bay to the trailhead of the Napali Trail with some of the best beaches and snorkling in all of Hawaii. It's where the movie Soul Surfer was filmed.

  • Just imagine driving a semi-trailer hauling cattle from Hana Ranch (Kaeleku), and out to Kahului Harbor! (Young Bros.), and back. It takes years of experience, skills, and a whole lot of common sense, I rode with my uncle, when I was little, also another driver from the ranch pulled a 35' cattle trailer; another driver from Valley Isle hauling, also pulled a 35' open cattle trailer, to me they were awesome, and they don't drive slow, they hardly touch the brakes, it was all gears & jakes!

  • Haha my dad always runs the tourists off the road. They are right about the locals being agressive hehe.

  • did you drive all the way around ? I did and she thought this was bad

  • not sure what you would have done if she didnt notice there was a car there. wheeww. lol

  • lol @ "There's a car there." Nice.

  • Hehe. On the Road to Hana, you really need to consider keeping both hands on the wheel. Now if we could just teach our wives to take steady videos from right seat, we wouldn't have to film while driving!
