ITA: Una delle mie canzoni preferite di tutto il repertorio di questa grande band americana, gli Eels. Una curiosità: la musica è così ipnotica perchè è stata ottenuta riproducendo all'incontrario un brano inedito, "Dog's life".
Purtroppo, mentre stavo ancora pensando di caricare questo video, una mia vicina è morta a soli 56 anni dopo aver perso la sua lotta contro un cancro. Era una persona molto gentile e carina e questo mondo bastardo ce l'ha portata via così crudelmente! Dedico a lei tutta la malinconia presente nella canzone. Addio.
ENG: One of my favourite songs in the repertory of this great american band, the Eels. Something interesting: the music is so mesmerizing because it was obtained playing backwards an unpublished song, "Dog's life".
Unfortunately, while I was still pondering about uploading the video, a neighbour of mine passed away after losing her battle with a cancer. She was only 56 years old. She was a very nice and sweet person and this bastard world has taken her away from us so cruelly! I dedicate to her all the melancholy in the song. Farewell.

If you Google the song name, you can find a small snippet from an interview with E. He explains that Efil's God is Dogs Life backwards. It's about being on the verge of death, yet seeing it as a part of life. He didn't intend it to speak for those thinking of suicide at all.

Un prodotto affascinante, un concentrato di emozioni, intensissimo.
Alcune delle canzoni sono così colme di sofferenza che in certi momenti faccio difficoltà ad ascoltarle.
In ogni caso, rispecchia il mio concetto di Arte allo stato puro.
Gli Eels sono dei geni.
