Stagecoach Transbus Dart 34620, PX04HTZ

Stagecoach 34620 PX04HTZ, a Transbus Dart, filmed while working on route 3 through the Penwortham area.

This is one of 6 Pointer Darts that are used on the high frequency and well used route 3 (Preston - Penwortham). These buses are now 4 years old and after spending all this time getting thrashed to death they are now starting to sound ruff and the vibrations through the bus when stationary are severe. This is shown in the video as the camera shakes up and down, this is the bus and not me.

never known of a boneshaker new dart, old ones boom rattle and chug in idle like theres no tomorrow but obviously with age the newuns do it!

These Darts are 04 reg, thus delivered between March-September 2004. Its the daily and constant use on the same service over the rough roads of Penwortham (plus speeds humps) that have turned these Darts into the mess they are now. They sound bad on the out side and are really rough to ride on. Not as bad as old Darts I know but their getting close.

we've got 34616 at Lillyhall now, having sent 25225 to Preston :@

i've been told 34616 was the better of the 6 at Preston, but compared to the 56reg ADL examples we have at Lillyhall, it is pretty rough, slow, and can't manage hills! plenty of hills on the routes it now serves!
