I had a Silver Streak when I was a kid. I remember the set came with a sheet of phosphorescent detail strips you could stick on the cars. That train looked AWESOME running in the dark.

The one thing I can say is the New EZ Track is much better than the older style tracks.. Mine keeps coming apart unless I screw it down... I just got some EZ track and my trains love it!
Talk about retro!!! 1980's meets 2000's!

Hi, I actually have my mint Silver Streak train set.. all parts and everything accounted for, EXCEPT I noticed that a majority if not all of the 4301 locos don't have the handrails - is this true? Even mine doesn't have them.. can the hand rails be gotten at a hobby shop specializing in trains?

I have a Tyco Alco but mine is the 1776/1976 version with matching caboose.

i got it from a friend who collects tyco. they're not hard to find...check ebay or train shows. if you just need a new motor, any motor from a Tyco diesel should work. tyco used the same motor in all their locos in the 70's.
