Pellegrini Breaks World Record in 200-meter Semifinal

Federica Pellegrini, silver medallist at the 2004 Olympics and 2005 worlds, produced a compelling turn of finishing speed to win the second women's 200 meters freestyle semifinal in 1:56.47. Her time beat the 1:56.64 world mark set by former world champion Franziska van Almsick at the European championships in Berlin on August 3, 2002. (WCSN, WCSN.com)
