@rndystarks I see it the other way. Mangini definately has his own voice on the insturmen. It might be that you've has twenty years worth of portnoy, as opposed to an album worth of Mangini.

@JackTheBeaver Not only that, but Mangini adds pocket, groove, and dynamics to the piece. They made an outstanding choice for a replacement. Portnoy is a very good drummer, but Mangini is an exceptional musician.

I'm not sure about being deaf but you are surely blind. It states where this is under the video, in the description box. Also, people are seated at 2:04

All the Mangini haters should notice those tiny little things he does better than Portnoy - for expample, in the main riff at the beginning, MP always left out the one hihat when the four notes on snare came. Here, you can actually see that MM is beating the hihats constantly (0:26 - 1:02). And those little things, which normal people mostly don't hear, do MM (in drummers eyes) better drummer than MP was, with all the respect.
