KODE 9 AND SPACE APE at SAT Montreal

A quintessential ambassador to the explosive UK dubstep scene, London's Kode9 has done more to propel the notoriety and influence of the genre than any other producer currently at work. As an artist he has issued numerous groundbreaking singles on Aphex Twin's Rephlex imprint, classic dubstep outlets like Tempa, and his very own Hyperdub label, the home of his critically acclaimed 2006 debut album with The Spaceape, Memories of the Future. As the founder of Hyperdub, he has cultivated a roster that includes the infamous Burial. This year, Kode9 arrives with The Spaceape, the dubtronic MC who lends much of Kode9's productions their distinctive vocal edge. The Spaceape is renowned for developing a haunting spoken-word chant style that touches upon counter-cultural social and political issues.
