Mr. Tinney may have retired this past year 2009... My children had Mr. Tinney and he was and is a great teacher.. He prepared his students for Middle school.
This is a bittersweet vid for me. I lived on Glenbury through 1979 and went to Hayes along with sister and brother. We walked the 1/4 to school in the morning. home for lunch, then back for the afternoon. I've have such intense memories of that place, from the skylight glass bricks on the 2nd floor to the grooves warn in the steps. "Christmas Story" fans will recall that the tongue-frozen-to-the-flagpole scene was shot back where the baseball backstop used to be.
Looks like the guy driving the excavator was just using it for the first time.
