"Elections are just around the corner
in Canada and the USA.
This is a perfect time to speak out,
to take a stand,
to tell the world that we need peace and freedom NOW
and that we will not rest
until we have given our children
a friendly, safe, and sustainable world to live in." -- Shas

I hope this video helps bring home the truth; that this is A Time to Break Silence. The video includes excerpts from Martin Luther Kings speech delivered 4 April 1967, at a meeting of Clergy and Laity Concerned at Riverside Church in New York City. It features the music of Handel's Messiah. I believe it is as relevant as it was the day it was first spoken. We still have work to do before we old-timers leave this world. Lets do it againfor our children and our chidren's children.

  • Powerful!

  • Spadecaller--This is the MLK the MSM does not want us to consider. They want us to remember the dreamer--but MLK as has observed didn't die dreaming--he died doing that which he knew would eventually get him killed .

I thought the musical interludes somewhat diluted the power of his word's imagery--otherwise very well done.

After watching the Dylan video "I'm Younger Than That Now", I wish you would do one on "Ballad of a Thin Man" or "Like a Rolling Stone". Think about it anyway.

  • I hadn't heard that speech of Martin Luther King before. "I Have A Dream" is obviously far more well known, and could be listened to by a concerned republican today without him/her disagreeing or feeling uncomfortable. This speech is much more radical in terms of its view of American society and foreign policy. That stuff about throwing coins to a beggar, exactly! It's not surprising they killed him less than a year later.

  • Oh, thank you, Spadecaller!

This is just what we needed.

    Perfect.

  • These are the truths we all have a right-to. No man, no political party, no American would have it any other way. Then why, I pray, do we allow scum to dictate policy. If we continue this path, Bush will have won his war; not yours...

  • Once more, a great job! And it is our job - the main thing which we are called to live for, to witness to, and to dedicate our very lives to. Keep it up Spadecaller and so will we! Joe Frazier Chad Mitchell Trio

  • Great graphics and speech. Shame it still apllies:( 5 stars Spade.:)
