Republican Dino Rossi and his operatives continue their disturbing trend of holding Bush-style "public" events at which anyone not deemed to be a loyal Republican is denied admission or ejected. Meanwhile, Rossi's operative freely follows Governor Gregoire without obstruction or physical abuse. The question remains -- what is Rossi hiding?

  • But this wasn't a private meeting. It was a press conference that Rossi told thousands of people about (It was even on the P-I's blog). So why did Rossi direct his staff to beat the crap out of any democrats who attended?

  • you're all retarded. If you don't want someone at your event, regardless of who else was invited they should kick them out. Then he tried to play the little whiner... "but what am I doing?" Anyone who doesn't think this guy should have been cuffed and take to jail after ignoring 4 different requests to leave by an officer is just being antagonistic.

  • Wow. Is it just me or is this a little scary? I'd like to think that our elected officials would welcome the public eye; I had no idea that Rossi had this kind of policy. I am truly alarmed by the implications of this story. Why would Rossi restrict democrat's access to and coverage of his public appearances. I mean, if elected, wouldn't he be representing democratic citizens as well?

  • The Seattle Times calls this news?

If you were having a private meeting and some uninvited guy with a camera kept walking onto your property even after already being warned not to, you'd have him removed too.

The photographer clearly has an agenda, and perhaps the Seattle Times does too.

  • Rossi is the worst. I'm a McCain gal 100% but this guy is a joke. Welcome to my press conference, you're under arrest. We don't need some sleazy loser like Rossi running our state.

  • Ok, but to my credit that kid was knocking shit over and tried to punch me in the head. Plus I'm totally opposed to any sort of transparency. Oh and note to SPD: when I deliver my awkward, forced clap lines you need to clap. I would also like to note that I am not gay.

  • Agreed. I can't believe Rossi just watches while three of his guys pile on some kid. What a sleaze bag.

  • How could Rossi let this happen at his own press conference? Totally messed up that a candidate would just blindly speak as someone was physically assaulted at a small press conference.

  • Its the G.P.S. - Government Police State
