I wrote this song, based on a piece of poetry by my friend John Sinclair. It's a story of a young love that happened long long ago and far far away...
Sandy (Take My Hand)
Sandy take my hand
Walk down to the lake with me
Pretty soon your dad will come
Take you away from here...
Those other boys will never love you Sandy
The way I do
And the sun so young
And your body is wet
And the day is new...
Sandy lives above the tracks
Breaks the boys hearts in two
(She breaks them all in two)
We chase her around and around and around
Sandy do what we want you to do
(But she never does)...
She just laughs
And throws her long hair back]
And her eyes are blue
And the sun's so young
And her body is wet
And the day is new...
Sandy's daddy is taking her away
Moving the family to Thunder Bay
He got a job in a nickel mine there
Sandy comes around
Tells me she'll be leaving town
We swim across to Dowker's Isle
Lay in the long grass for a while
And Sandy promises me
Sandy promises me...
Sandy if I stole a car
Would you run away with me
We could drive and drive and drive
And you could stay with me Sandy...
Those other boys will never love you Sandy
The way I do
Oh I love you Sandy...
I love this..thank you for sharing it's wonderful xx

@canfor5 Well it's a true story, with an embellishment here and there. I like the chord changes canfor and look forward to recording a more elaborate demo down the road.
