To the comments at the top: No1 Gravity is of course greater near black holes, white dwarf etc since they have soooo much greater mass than the earth. The earth is just a tiny pea compared to those. Whoever said this is factually unfounded really has no idea what they are talking about. The scientists talking in this video are the cream of the scientific community. Second, what they propose are all theoretically possible, since it can be explained through mathematical equations.

@petem2010 factually unfounded in sense that we don't have any actual proof or measurement that this is the case with gravity. Yeah equations on our current level of understanding are suggesting that this could be the case, but we need more at least partial evidence that it is. We could acquire that hopefuly with L.I.S.A.

Maybe gravity is weak on our planet but White Dwarfs and Black Holes have insane gravity.

gravity is deformation of spacetime, not force in classical meaning (we dont have uncertainty principle in it etc). We need to understand gravity @ quantum level. Recently enthropic model of gravity gives another view at this strange phenomena

Popularization of science is often sprinkled with pseudo-science. It's because the ones who put together the whole thing are not scientists, but media people.

@gabi83tm First you need to understand that there are additional dimensions. Once that is understood, this leads to the fact there are parallel universes. The latter can't exist without the former. Additional dimensions and parallel universes are different, but both must exist for the other to be explainable.

@sebastianb87 You have it backwards. In modern physics research, these impossible sounding theories are the result, not the cause of work done. The mathematics drives the physicists into creating these theories. The elegance of this is that, if the mathematics is correct, then the theory is reality and will always be correct. It starts with mathematics, and moves forward from there. Aren't you glad you did well in math at school?
