@lisaletanosky For many reasons. One of which is you have no real idea of the conditions of their living spaces, clean, dirty, infested. Then there are the breeding couple. Are they happy, what are their temperments, tics (no not real tics) how old are they, were they both loved? Did the owner take time to handle them, as in getting them used to being handled? Are they used to a home environment? Are they from puppy farms. Find a good local breeder.

I agree many times people do not get rid of puppies because the prices are just insane in todays world. Its caled greed. I would be more concerned with background checks and checking out enviroments they will be living in to make sure they arent used strickly for breeding purposes more than the price. We are talking about a life here. Not just money .

Very tiny chihuahuas are often referred to as “teacup” Chihuahuas or "Micro", but those are marketing ploys.. Be wary of breeders who use these terms. What they are doing is advertising what is essentially the runt of the litter as something special or valuable, labels such as teacup, pocket-size, tiny toy or miniature, may be used to persuade buyers. there’s no such thing as a micro Chihuahua or a teacup Chihuahua. What you may get instead is a dog with health problems and a shorter life span.
