Actually Paginini played many duets with the famous guitarist Luigi Legnani. Paginini wrote many pieces for the two of them to perform. His famous work "Grand Sonata" now usually played just by a solo guitarist was originally written for violin and guitar. Paganini was actually a fairly accomplished guitarist himself and is reputed to have coerced Luigi into playing the rudimentary violin part, whilst he took the limelight playing the guitar!

@ABEL1840 Paganini was a truly great composer and musician, but you do him no favors with your argument. It is well known that he based his variations on the work by Gioachino Rossini whom he had first met in Bologna 1818. The two became close friends and payed tribute to each other on more than a few occasions.
