Bill Elliott 2003 Homestead Heartbreaker flat tire

So basically in Bill Elliott's last race in a full time car, he dominated the final 2 races only to suffer the biggest heartbreaker in nascar perhaps.

2003 was a bummer of sorts in NASCAR, Matt Kenseth all but had the championship locked up...he blew up anyhow...Bill Elliott should have won this race, if he had won we might have seen him race in 2004 instead of Kasey Kahne, that is why Kahne was so good in his first year because of Elliott's notes from the previous year. Darrell Waltrip asked him about what he thought about the last lap heartbreaker at Homestead and Elliott said "anybody got a match?"

Tell me about it. Bill Elliott also should have won Kansas if you can remember back to that October race. The veterans didn't do a whole lot this year, Marlin (my guy) lost 2 races and had no top 5s, Jarrett had one win in February and blew the rest of the year, Wallace did nothing, Martin did nothing (Roush had so many engine problems though), and Rudd's best run was a string of 3-3-2 finishes, but no wins. You know the year is going to be boring when Kenseth leads by 424 after Dover :(

Just the end of a bad week for me. I lose my Uncle, the viewing is the day of the Truck race, my guy wins the title but one of my buddies gets mad because another of my favorites' brother took her guy out, then her guy who I detest wins the Nationwide title after 2 of her guys, including her top favorite, crash on lap 1, & then this with a guy both she & I like. AGH!...

I remember watching that race and being emotionally confused. last Winston cup race, Terrible terrible break for Bill, a nacar legend, and a great day for Bobby. I just wasn't sure what to think :P
