why don't you put the bread in the toaster???

@bellaisaprincess : The toaster is good when it is a thinner item but in case of this sandwich, we want it heated all the way to the center and a toaster will bot do that.

The key to this open sandwich is that the bread needs to be nice and crispy before you add on the topping. If you can get the bread crispy, then the second thing is to have the cheese melt. If you are able to do these two things on a pan, you could warm the beans in the microwave or stove and top the sandwich. The only concern...the bottom of the bread would burn and the cheese wouldn't melt. Wondering if you have a toaster oven???
