What is it about singer-songwriter Bob Corbett from Newcastle, Australia? He has received nine 1233 ABC Music Awards in the past 4 years. Released the critically ac-claimed album Storyboard. Last year he was a national finalist in both the MusicOz and Australian Songwriters Awards and has received a touring grant from the Australian Governments Contemporary Music Touring Program.

Bobs Storyboard Tour has seen the inclusion of his band for the first time on the road. After traveling extensively as a solo artist promoting Storyboard, Bob is ecstatic that the wider Australian audience will finally get to experience his wonderful band of virtuoso musicians, Dave Carter (banjo/bass), Sue Carson (fiddle/mandolin) and Michael Stove (guitar).

The Bob Corbett Band treats the audience to a rich 4-piece acoustic sound that comfortably brings traditional genres of blues and folk into the 21st century. Their sound is like Alison Krauss band, Union Station, meeting up with John Butler and Paul Kelly, and inviting Jackson Browne and Bob Marley to sit in. The hybrid that ensues is quite unforgettable. A trademark of the performance is Corbetts unique approach to looping, an art in which he creates layers of vocal harmonies and guitar parts by himself without any pre-recording.

The band delivers a compelling show that visits folk, pop, blues, bluegrass, alt-country, beat-boxing and reggae. While many of those styles would not usually appear in the same sentence (let alone performance), these magnificent musicians effortlessly bring Bobs musical vision to life.
