This is what doing a cover is about! You've taken a good song and you've done something different with it. To those who complain that it is different: what are you looking for, an exact copy of the studio version?
Great job guys!

wow, those vocals are not fitting for this song at all.

@slybattery Actually, that's the actual audio; Windows Movie Maker often teams up with YouTube's own processing to thwart any attempt made to sync up audio with video : )

@coldwind777 Also, positive or negative, we appreciate the feedback; thank you for taking the time to comment.

@coldwind777 Hmmm, haven't looked at this since around when we posted it, didn't realize there were comments. I agree that Jeff Mangum has a vocal quality that simply cannot be replicated. However, all I can say is, all three of us love this song, and we thought this was the best way to show it. Yes, we certainly could have done better. Yes, we will never capture what Jeff captures when he sings it. But we can at least try to show him what an impact he's had on us.

missing the Mangum edge, still pretty.
they completely changed the nature of this song, some may love it, some may hate it. i think it sounds pretty. i like any NMH cover because i like NMH fans who are enthusiastic about the band.

@irascib1e And THAT is indeed what music is all about : )

it lacks emotion, but its musically correct. u need more grain in your voice, and it should sound a bit more natural, rather than "singy"... however i did like the harmonies. good job.

@johnmorisi8 Thank you, agreed that it came out a little too mellow, without the Mangum grit, but we love the song and we had to do it. We also love our harmonies, so I appreciate the kind words on that!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Oh, so they actually sang good unlike the original band. Cool!

@IridiumDragon I'm sorry, but I also have to disagree. There is a valuable lesson for all singers to be learned from Jeff Mangum: sing with all the emotion and meaning you have inside you, regardless of how you think it might sound and how it might be judged. There's more to music than what hits your ears.
