Brian Duffy, the longtime cartoonist at The Des Moines Register, was fired and escorted from the building Dec. 3 as part of chain-wide cutbacks by Gannett Co. WHO-TV visited with Duffy to talk about what happened and about the future.

That's the Register. That's Gannett. That's the business in general. The remaining staff really should be making other plans. The Register is dying.
