Perfect Cherry Blossom - SakuyaB, Stage 6

Stage 6. Oh my god I love the music on this stage so much. The stage BGM is so fast-paced, it really has the final battle feeling ZUN was going for. Yuyuko's theme, Border of Life, is probably the best song he's ever created. So many different emotions flowing through the music: sadness, anger, determin- WOW I SOUND LIKE A TOTAL LOSER.

Midboss - Youmu Konpaku (魂魄　妖夢)
Youmu's pretty desperate at this point! Her midspell is pretty much the same as her old one in Stage 5, except that trying to aim it elsewhere is disastrous. D:

Six Realms Sword [Ageless Obsession]
六道剣「一念無量劫」
I always panic at this card with Sakuya. I love how I'll focus until I get the Border, then unfocus and never get hit. I have never gotten hit on this card with a Border, only without it. ;_;
The pattern is the same every time, and there's a safespot here somewhere, but I never tried to find it. I know it works on Lunatic...


Stage Boss - Yuyuko Saigyouji (西行寺　幽々子)
Yuyuko, on Normal, is probably one of the harder final bosses. Nothing compared to, say, Utsuho, but I'd definitely put her above Remilia or Kanako (and Kaguya, but that goes without saying).
One of my favorite things about this boss fight is how the stage BGM still manages to sync with the action. The chorus to Border of Life starts around the time you get to Yuyuko's first spellcard, and so forth. It's just /brilliant./

Losing Hometown [Lost Soul's Village -Fatal Sin-]
亡郷「亡我郷 -宿罪-」
This card can get disastrous if you let it go on too long. The lasers get closer to you every time Yuyuko fires them, and the arrow bullets get more dense. In short, it's an absolute blast. Thankfully I got the Border here, I usually capture this card easily. D:

Deadly Dance [Law of Mortality -Dead Butterfly-]
亡舞「生者必滅の理 -死蝶-」
"Deadly Dance" is right. You have to be ridiculously accurate to get through this card without dying, which I personally have never accomplished without bombing or breaking a Border. If you go to the point where Yuyuko is, and move around the swirling bullets, you can gain huge amounts of graze and Cherry/CherryMAX, but it's way too dangerous for me to try. I'm not good enough. ;_;

Flowery Soul [Swallowtail Butterfly]
華霊「スワローテイルバタフライ」
It's possibly to supergraze this card by keeping close to the lasers and staying within the explosion of butterfly bullets and grazing them all, but I never tried it. Have no idea how to do it. D:
Still, it's a fairly easy card.

Subtle Melody [Repository of Hirokawa -Ghost-]
幽曲「リポジトリ・オブ・ヒロカワ -亡霊-」
When I was watching this replay while recording with FRAPS, I saw myself bombed and throught "huh, coulda sworn I died there inste- oh wait I did |D."
This is probably the most supergrazable spellcard in the series. The world record holder for this game, HS, grazed his way to a 87,323,240-point spellcard bonus on Lunatic.
EIGHTY-SEVEN MILLION.
I actually think this card is a lot easier on Hard and Lunatic. I dunno why, but I only have trouble with it on Normal. :/

Cherry Blossom Sign [Perfect Cherry Blossom of Sumizome -Getting Lost-]
桜符「完全なる墨染の桜 -亡我-」
Amazingly, I managed to capture this card. I believe that's the first time it's happened. I usually die or break a Border here. D:

I remember when I first beat this card, and I was like "HOLY HELL I JUST BEAT YUYUKO YEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"
And then!

[Resurrection Butterfly -30% Reflowering-]

fffffffffffffffffffffffffff
I had no idea Yuyuko had this card when I first beat [Getting Lost]. This card used to absolutely rape me; I'd lose around five lives on Practice Mode, even WITH bombing. Now I've gotten a lot better at it for some reason. I just randomly knew how to dodge it one day, but I have no idea how.
This is also the basis for Yuyuko's Last Word in Imperishable Night: [Saigyouji Flawless Nirvana]. Except in that game, Yuyuko's been taking steroids and it brings despair to me. ):

Final score is 682,534,520 points!
SakuyaB is a total gamebreaker, ffs. I usually never use her (I'm usually much more comfortable with MarisaA), but this run was pretty good, so I chose to upload this.

Now, onto Imperishable Night!

I don't get how you don't have trouble with Flowery Soul [Swallowtail Butterfly]. It is by far the most annoying spellcard that she has. Probably the most annoying spellcard that I've ever faced. ;~;
