The longer you leave a show the more impatient people get. You can't simply rely on a good brand to gurantee viewers.

Children also are not very loyal. It would be a fool that would say that if Doctor Who was off the air that kids would wait patiently and not lose interest until it was on again.

Kids will see something as in one minute and then out the next. So Moffat owes it to the fans to make the gap between series 6 and series 7 a lot shorter. Also he owes it to the fans to at least give us 7 episodes as well as The Christmas Special in 2012. But that is up to him. However there is an old saying that says "Don't let the grass grow under your feet"

Time will always move on and that includes The Doctor. In real life Moffat does not have a Tardis to go back and do it right next time. He only gets one chance to make a big impression.

  • Did you know that the weeping angels were in the pilot episode of Doctor Who at 2.43 mins in. It looks very much like one in the second part watch?v=jU4BxB52SYM

  • they should bring back Mgann for the 50th

  • @badhead now there is an idea but we have not even tapped into what the 8th Doctor did before he regenerated into CE.

  • The BBC is making excuses really. They've had YEARS to tackle the license fee issue and they (like many BSters) have only bothered now since the recession. Why doesn't Mark Thompson have a pay cut? From Wikipedia:

In January 2010, Thompson was strongly criticised over the size of his £834,000 pay packet, and was told by one of his own journalists that "there are huge numbers of people in the organisation who think your salary is plain wrong and corrosive."

  • @thatsthewayitgoes09 remember eldorado a total farce where the BBC spent loads of money on it. It was meant to be a bit like Eastenders but Abroad. They must have spent millions on the set. Despite people still going now as Tourists who remember the soap they still have not recouped their losses. Very Very Sad

  • You two are cute. :) I agree with a lot of what you said - all the way over in Washington State, USA. Love Matt Smith, but Moffat's got to go, crazy mad writing. Great ideas, but way too many complicated plots. Tone it down, make some sense of it, and just make it fun again. Love Doctor Who though.

  • I agree Moffat seems to drag out this long extravagant script for each serie of 11th's run. Don't get me wrong I like the underlying plots, like the crack, mysterious River Song, and The silence will fall. It's just he builds it up and up and up and finally we're at the finale and what do we get....A Script that looks like it was written overnight explaining this underlying factor. I was very disappointed in River's Identity, i mean come on Moffat, you make this awesome mysterious woman who kno

  • i think the problems really lies with russell t davies. He changed the fundamentals of what the classic doctor who was about, the 4 parters the arc stories and just turned dw into a regular series like buffy or stargate.Stephen moffat has taken over but he cant really save the show cause its too late the mood of this new series has been set now,to me doctor who needs to go back to that old tom baker era where the pacing was slower not tennant or smith running around like bunnies with duracells.

  • Stephen Moffat is an anal-faced cunt.

  • Could not agree more. I've serious issues with Moff, could write pages about how problematic it is starting with the Doctor himself. We *knew* 9 and 10 but what do we know about 11? At the end of Tennant/RTD era the Doctor was beginning to deal with his issues. Since then, not so much!11 is in love with River? Moff *tells* us he loves her, but doesn't *show* us,breaking the first rule of writing: show, don't tell. How are we supposed to care about the characters if we don't know them?

  • @thegreentimtam Mate I never said the Mill was an App I said he probably used Adobe After Effects instead of decent effects in the last one as it looked like a cheap lightening bolt effect they used for The Silence and also the Chess Pieces. I also agree with my mate Mark that the show will finish in 2013 and probably the BBC will go for a Movie in America or Mini Movies once a year. I would like to see Moffat step down and give it to someone from the big finish crew that do excellent work

  • You make a lot of sense! Since Moffat took over, the scripts are awful-they don't make sense any more. Nobody i know watches it any more. it used to be must see.

  • You do realize that Steven Moffat also has to work on Sherlock for series 2 in the spring, right? He isn't just working on Doctor Who.

  • YESS mate FINALLY someone on youtube agrees with me COMPLETELY about Doctor Who's situation - you rock mate ;)
