The Failings of the Design argument.

In this video I mainly hit on the main major flaw of the design argument. I use VenomFangX as an example simply because he illustrates the points so well. This video concentrates on the faulty analogical reasoning that design proponents use to reach their faulty conclusions.

Valid analogical reasoning:

Watch found randomly in woods compared to ship I watched being built.

I find similar mechanisms, form, and function in the watch to that of a ship I watched being built. It is reasonable to assume that the watch was intelligently designed using the same or similar mechanisms to that of a ship being designed by the same type of designer.

Faulty analogical reasoning:

Comparing watch to cells.

Well....they are both complex, right? They are NOT ANALOGOUS!

@sportychick720 The only uncaused cause is the foundation of all of reality and we have no idea what that is. It could be that reality is complex by necessity, there could be a hyper dimension that has inherent and necessary characteristics that produce 4 dimensional bubble universes or just this one. This could be an oscillating universe., ect. . .We just don't know. If god can be uncaused and complex by necessity, reality can be also. Positing god gets you nowhere.

@klasco1991 yeah and that designer is called God. He is the one that created and designed the earth/universe. Everything on earth has a cause and there cannot be an infinte number of causes and if something is already existing then it cannot cause itself into existence. The only uncaused cause is God.

Paley was trying to show that all of creation is designed. His watchmaker argument fails right from the premise. If someone picks up a watch on the beach, & says "this must have a designer" then WHY did he pick up the watch, & NOT a rock, & NOT handfull of sand & say "there must be a sandmaker"?

His point is that the watch clearly has a designer, and it DOES. And clearly the rock it sat on, or the sand or the dirt DO NOT - otherwise, how does the native differentiate the rock from the sand?

It's a good video, but a bit of an open goal. After all it is VenomfangX you're discussing. If he an Kent Hovind got together there would just be about enough brain matter to create one cell between them.
