Based on the "Oprah Book Club" selection by Anna Quindlen, Black and Blue stars Mary Stuart Masterson as New York City housewife Fran Benedetto. Outwardly living an ideal existence, Fran harbors a painful secret: She is regularly abused, both verbally and physically, by her husband Bobby (Anthony LaPaglia). But why does not Fran go to the police? The answer is tragically simple: Bobby is a cop himself. Ultimately, Fran goes into hiding in Florida -- whereupon Bobby grimly applies the skills gleaned from years of detective work to track his hapless spouse down. Benefiting from believable characterizations and logical plot twists, the made-for-TV Black and Blue originally aired November 14, 1999 on CBS.

Pretty, pretty ranch home and cinderella story. Hollywood movies need to get somewhat real if they are gonna do a halfass documentary. Stop blowing smoke up the ass of teens, abandoned kids, single moms or asshole dads. If major networks cared at all, they would make these "stories" realistic and donate the profits

I hope one day my kids see all I have endured and what they have endured at the hands of their father but until then I remain the bad guy and that's ok cuz I love my children with everything in me and it is not their fault the type of man their father is or all I have allowed ... I cried so hard when she lost her son cuz I fear that as well... Im just happy he came back to her....

ungreatful husband! yeah, he gave her a home, a family, got his mom to take her son so she could earn money herself, but that does not give him a right to beat the crap out of her. if ur leaving bruises on her, leaving marks on her, yeah, i would say that it was bad enough for her to leave ur sorry ass! it was really great to see her take a stand for herself, even if she ended up losing the fight.
