Classic vertical rolling scissors.

Me and a Squadmate were picking on a lone P38 behind the lines in World War 2 Online. A French Dewotine D.520 snuck in just as the 38 went down and latched onto my tail.

After some viloent manuevering we wound up in a classic rolling scissor.

  • rolling scissor is very easy to counter,

all the pursuing AC has to do is chop his throttle and he wont overshoot like that

  • @mattmil89

Bad idea IMO. The game of the rolling scissors is to slow forward movement.. but yet still have enough speed to manuever. If you chop throttle.. you become a brick.

While I on the other hand.. have kept my throttle pegged.. and am using the vertical to stop forward movement. You oth, have chopped throttle.. and can no longer follow me up... in which case you DIE.

  • @mattmil89 You will lose your target if you chop your throttle in a dogfight where machine gun or short range missile is concerned. Fact is there is always a counter but that counter can also be countered. HA!

  • 5 stars and Nice video and you nailed that guy.But how can you make a rolling scissor?Cuz when i try i never get overshoot?

  • Isn't rolling scissors not advised for LW planes? Doesn't it bleed off a lot of E which is what the 109 is do dependent on? I'm only asking because I'm trying to better myself. I'm only a gefreighter lol. I wanna each level 3 so I can fly better tier planes than the E-1 and E-4

  • This video was made long before the G was put in the game.

  • Yeah I play too, I was actually curious if he was flying the F or the G, which share the same console in wwiiol. If he was flying the F that was a sweet kill on the P38, If he was flying the G that was some brilliant maneuvering. See what im wondering? watching it again I expect it may have been the G.

  • Damn nice example of the rolling scissors in WWIIOL. Nice kill on the P38.

  • yes thats WWIIOLs 109-F4 (you can tell by the ammo counters which are not present on the 109-E4s console)

  • beautifully done, were u flying the F?
