My school did our version of Aladin I was a girl version of Genie it was kind of a jazz version of this song .....memories.

It's clever how the song mentions "Scheherezade had a thousand tales" when in fact he had a thousand and one, the extra one being Arabian nights/Aladdin...

Yeah, but in other Aladdin films and TV Shows, Dan Castellaneta voiced the Genie due to Robin William's conflicts with Disney.

@clio247 Yes. Robin Williams voiced the Genie in the original "Aladdin" and "Aladdin and the King of Thieves" but Dan Castellaneta voiced him in all other appearances.

It's ironic that at the beginning of the song, Genie mentions the 40 Thieves. It turns out in the third Aladdin movie that Aladdin's father is the king of the 40 Thieves, thus making Aladdin the prince of the 40 Thieves =)

they couldn't have picked a better person to voice the genie. i absolutely love this whole scene. it's all so whimsical and fabulous and CATCHYYY.
